4th Connecticut Congressional District

YMCAs in southwestern Connecticut (Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport/Weston, along with portions of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA and the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut) are represented in the United States Congress by freshman Congressman Jim Himes (D-4th Connecticut Congressional District).
Congressman Himes met with Connecticut YMCA Alliance leaders during YMCA Advocacy Days in Washington, DC this week. The meeting afforded the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, whose YMCA mission portfolio includes affordable housing, the opportunity to share with Congressman Himes creative approaches to the ten-year plan to end homelessness.
This week Connecticut YMCA Alliance leaders Chip Lewis, Sean Doherty, Philip Dwyer, Morag Vance and YMCA Resource Director Richard Foot met with US Senator Dodd, Congressmen Joe Courtney and Jim Himes, as well as legislative directors for Senator Joseph Lieberman, and Members of Congress John Larson, Rosa DeLauro, Christopher Murphy, and John Olver (D-1st Massachusetts Congressional District – home of YMCA Camp Hi-Rock).
