Roberts Tapped For Y-USA Post

Andrew Roberts, Executive Director of the Greater Waterbury YMCA, has been selected as YMCA Senior Resource Director for YMCA of the USA Region One – the Northeast. Andrew succeeds Vanessa Boulous, who accepted the post of Senior Vice President for YMCA Relations at the YMCA Retirement Fund on June 1st.

Since April of 2003 Andrew has served as the Executive Director of the Greater Waterbury YMCA (
www.waterburyymca.org ), with corporate offices in Waterbury, Connecticut. Andrew currently chairs the Connecticut Alliance of YMCAs, a volunteer responsibility to which he was elected in 2006.

Prior to his YMCA service, Andrew was a senior consultant at PriceWaterhouse in Chicago in the firm’s global health care consulting practice, and previously was a Vice President for Business Development at Alloy, Inc, in New York City.

As YMCA Senior Resource Director Andrew Roberts will manage a team of ten YMCA Resource Directors, as part of the Y-USA Service Delivery system to the eleven states in the Northeast, from Maryland to Maine. The Northeast Region One encompasses 239 YMCAs with 624 branches in the eleven-state region.

A 1991 graduate of Brandeis University, Andrew earned a Master of Human Service Management (MMHS) from the Heller School at Brandeis in 1992, and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1996.


A resident of Middlebury, Connecticut, Andrew is married to Mimi Rivard, and is the father of two children – Simone, 7 and Andre 4. Andrew currently serves on the Waterbury Hospital Board of Directors, as Vice Chair of the Prevention Policy Board for City of Waterbury, and is a Greenway Advisory Council member.

In his free time, he coaches wrestling at Pomperaug Regional High School and rides his mountain bike whenever he can! Andrew enjoys participating in triathlons and spending time with family in Rhode Island.

Andrew will commence his national YMCA service on August 3, 2009.
